Azam Marine Kilimanjaro Fast Ferries

Azam Marine and Coastal Fast Ferries operate passenger ferry boats between the islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and mainland Tanzania. The boats are clean, safe and affordable making transit between Zanzibar and mainland accessible to everyone.

The ferry from mainland to Zanzibar is 2 hour journey and there is ample indoor seating and some limited outdoor spaces as well. Inside you can expect to sit in fully airconditioned comfort with a movie playing on the tv screen. Theres a snacks bar for ferry ride nibbles and refreshments.

The ferries are used primarily by locals and given the high muslim population on the Island it is recommended that toursits and foreigners are respectful of the culture and dress conservatively for transit.
