We have been given 1 month's notice to leave our beautiful feline home and head of operations for Mama Paka Zanzibar.
We have secured a temporary site for our 30 resident cats and staff while we continue to search for a more suitable location to continue our kitten nursery, spay/neuter and community outreach programmes for the long term. We need your help to cover rent, transport costs, and supplies to make moving as stress free as possible for the Mama Paka cats and to help us rebuild.
Since 2021, we have helped and treated over 1100 community cats and their caretakers for free. We have sterilised more than 830 cats, vaccinated and managed the health needs of four Stone Town colonies, and cared for more than 130 intensive-care cats and kittens in our specialist kitten nursery.
We do all of this for free. We work together with Zanzibar's community cat caretakers, who look after the thousands of cats and kittens in Stone Town. And we rely fully on donations and the generosity of our supporters to do this.
We urgently need help to Mama Paka running, and most importantly to keep our resident cats safe.
