The one day tour is beyond promising, which makes you feel that every time you leave home, another road takes you into a world you were never in. You will be more subtle eye watching varieties of wildlife such as gazelles, giraffes, antelopes, elephants but the most assured animals which are rarely seen in other parks but to Mkomazi is assurance are the rhinos and wild dogs.


SAFARI OVERVIEW 

The Mkomazi National Park is a spectacular wilderness. Within sight to the northwest is Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest summit. To the south, the Pare and Usambara Mountains form a dramatic backdrop and, to the north, Kenya's vast Tsavo National Park shares a border with Mkomazi, making common ground for migratory herds of elephant, oryx and zebra during the wet season. Together with Tsavo, it forms one of the largest and most important protected ecosystems on earth.


DAY 1:FLY FROM ZANZIBAR TO ARUSHA THEN MKOMAZI NATIONAL PARK.

Morning pick up from your Kisongo Airport  in Arusha and departure to Mkomazi National Park. Set below the verdant slopes of the spectacular Usambara and Pare Eastern Arc Mountain Ranges and overseen by iconic snow – capped peak of Kilimanjaro, Mkomazi is a virgin breathtaking beauty exhibiting unique natural treasures and immense sense of space – which adds to the fulfillment of high visitor’s enjoyment expectations – a much needed bridge between northern circuit and coastal attractions.

Arrive in time for the afternoon game drive. You will drive through the Arusha Dar es Salaam high way, with good weather you will have great view of Mt Meru and Kilimanjaro on your way. Mukomazi national Park is one of the few places where you can see endangered black rhinos in Tanzania; You’ll also have the chance to see endangered wild dog as well as many other species such as giraffe, eland, hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephant and the long necked gerenuk. Bird spotting is excellent with more than 450 avian species recorded, including endemics such as the cobalt-chested vulturine guinea-fowl and other large ground birds such as ostrich, kori bustard, secretary bird and ground hornbill Migratory species are also present here, such as the Eurasian roller.

DAY 2:MKOMAZI NATIONAL PARK TO ARUSHA (ZANZIBAR)

We’ll enjoy an early morning game drive and then go back to the campsite for breakfast. After breakfast, you will visit a local village near Mkomazi National Park to learn about the culture and traditions of the local people. You will have the chance to interact with the villagers and learn about their daily life, including farming, cooking, and traditional medicine. You will also have the chance to purchase some locally made souvenirs. Then, drive back to Arusha Airport for departure .
